Surface infrastructure and development work for mines, held as a main contract from platform to handover. Full scopes, not single trades.
Everything above the shaft collar is a construction project: a platform to cut, haul roads and stormwater to put in, plant civils and machine bases to pour, process and electrical buildings to put up, workshops, stores, change houses and offices to build, and the whole lot tied together with services, roads and access control. Split across a dozen trade contractors it becomes a coordination problem. RNC Group takes it as one main contract.
That is the reason we do not price trade packages under another builder. When RNC is on a mine we hold the principal building agreement, run the site establishment, carry the health and safety file and the programme, and contract the specialist trades under us. The client deals with one party and one number.
The work suits full scopes rather than piecework. If the enquiry is a complete surface package, a new plant area, a workshop and change house complex, or a development that has to be built while the operation keeps running, it is the size of job we are set up for.
RNC Group holds the principal building agreement and carries the programme, the site and the liability. We do not take subcontract packages under another builder.
RNC Group is a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, which carries the highest procurement recognition available to a client spending with us.
Established relationships with trades, suppliers and plant hire across the country mean we can establish a site and hold the main contract anywhere in South Africa.

Cutting the terraces the plant and buildings sit on, and the roads that feed them.
Bases built for the loads, vibration and chemical exposure the equipment puts into them.
The structures that house the process and the power on a plant site.
The buildings that put people on site and keep the operation running.
The services and structures that tie a plant area together.
Excavation and lining where the route has to run below existing structures.
We walk the site with the client, take the constraints on access, services and production, and price off what is actually there.
The programme is built around shutdown windows and permit systems before anyone mobilises.
Site establishment, our own supervision, and specialist trades contracted under us on one programme.
Snagging, reinstatement of anything we touched, and the compliance file handed over with the work.
Mining is the direction the business is built to serve, and the record that supports it is heavy industrial work of the same character: structures built to plant specification, on constrained sites, around production that was not allowed to stop.
The office and the core teams are in Johannesburg, which puts us inside a few hours of most of the platinum, chrome and coal belt. Beyond that, established relationships with trades, suppliers and plant hire across the country mean we mobilise and hold the main contract on site rather than handing the job to a local builder.
